Breakthrough T1D Play (formerly JDRF Game2Give®) is a program within Breakthrough T1D, the leading global type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organization.

This project had both heart and complexity. It began with a powerful idea—harnessing the global gaming community to support advocacy, research, and fundraising for Type 1 Diabetes. The site needed to reflect that spirit while staying flexible enough to grow with the program’s rapid momentum.
Live events, rotating streamers, seasonal fundraisers, and new prizes needed to be featured without overcomplicating the experience. On top of all of that, the platform had to speak to both seasoned gamers and newcomers alike, inviting them to join the mission through their favorite medium.
We created a site that could keep pace with the fast-moving world of livestreams, game bundles, and community events. Every page was built with intention—color-coded to echo gaming controller palettes and structured to support ongoing updates.
We developed templates for news, events, streaming content, and toolkits to make it easy for the internal team to maintain and expand. The goal was to create a hub that could inform, inspire, and invite action at any point in the program’s journey.
The site quickly became a powerful home for streamers, developers, and fundraisers rallying behind the cause. It has helped raise over $5 million for Type 1 Diabetes research since its inception.
As the initiative transitioned from JDRF Game2Give to Breakthrough T1D Play, we quietly and thoroughly updated branding, copy, and structural details across the site. These changes were handled without disruption, allowing the platform to continue growing and serving its mission without missing a beat.
